Hamad International Airport

Hamad International Airport is the main international gateway of Qatar and the hub for Qatar Airways. Located east of Doha, it is one of the busiest airports in the Middle East. As part of the airport’s expansion—specifically the Concourse C extension supporting increased passenger flow during the 2022 FIFA World Cup—Hunter Douglas was selected to supply acoustic suspended ceiling panels.

Initially specified as single skin panels, the white flat acoustic panels were upgraded to honeycomb-based panels with a front and back skin to meet strict flatness requirements. Curved panels in a wood print finish were delivered as single skin.

In total, approximately 70,000 m² of ceiling panels were supplied, including around 16,000 m² of white acoustic panels. The complete process—from design to production and delivery—was completed within a 6 to 8-month timeframe.
