Derako® Veneered Grill

The grill elements for ceilings and walls are an ideal acoustic solution with natural charm. The flexibility of the product range ensures complete design freedom for the architect.

The Veneered Wooden Grill system consists of wooden slats that are secured to each other with an aluminium dowel. These assembled slats form the grill panel, which can be produced in various lengths and widths. The slat cores consist of MDF engineered solid wood (ESW), with a decorative varnish of a high-quality real wood veneer. A wide range of wood veneers is available, all with their own characteristics. The wood is used efficiently in the production of veneer, as modern production methods ensure that around 800-1000 m² of veneer can be produced from 1 m3 of wood. The advantage of the system is that it is a made-to-measure solution, meaning no cutting adjustments are required on-site.

Technical Details

The slats are pre-assembled to create a grill element by means of a metal dowel or a multiplex cross-connector. The grill element is simple to install on a T-24 grid for ceiling applications or on a wooden frame for wall applications. The gap can be any size, but a common rule of thumb is that the gap between the slats does not exceed the slat height. Other slat dimensions are available upon request. Optionally, the metal dowel can be replaced with a wooden backer, or a flexible dowel to create curved grills.
