Climate Ceilings

Visual, acoustical and thermal comfort in one system

Climate ceilings can be an essential element in making a building more energy-efficient and more sustainable. The ceiling range of Hunter Douglas Architectural offers three innovative climate ceiling systems under the name PareauLux that provide exceptional cooling performance while offering an acoustically and aesthetically pleasing design.

Climate Elements
The ‘engine’ of the PareauLux climate ceiling system consists of elements of finely meshed expanded metal on which copper pipe grinders are soldered. In these so-called climate elements, cold or hot water is supplied, depending on whether there is a need for cooling or heating in the room. The heat exchange takes place on the basis of a combination of radiation and convection, which is experienced as very pleasant.

Functional and Economical Benefits
Compared to standard climate ceilings, the PareauLux system delivers up to 80% greater capacity. Its exceptional acoustic performance is achieved through the use of high-quality sound-absorbing panels, such as felt. The climate technology is invisibly integrated into the ceiling, also allowing for the discreet incorporation of lighting, ventilation, and detection systems. In addition to its functional advantages, the system offers benefits such as low operating costs, a long service life, and the potential to earn credits for sustainable building certification schemes.

The PareauLux climate ceilings have been created through a collaboration of two top players in the (climate) ceiling industry. Hunter Douglas Architectural for the distinctive design and material use of the panels and Inteco for the innovative climate system with an extremely high cooling capacity.

Climate ceiling system with linear felt panels

HeartFelt® Linear PareauLux for unparalleled acoustic and visual properties.

Designers can choose between two felt panel styles when specifying this system: box-shaped panels with a height of 55mm, or rounded panels measuring 64mm in height. For optimal acoustic and cooling performance, module 70 is recommended. The felt panels are available in five grey tones and five earth tones, offering flexibility for both calm and striking design concepts.

Climate ceiling system with linear metal panels

Luxalon® 30BD / 30BXD PareauLux that seamlessly blends acoustic performance with timeless design versatility.

The metal panels 30BD and 30BXD can both be used for this system. Module 50 is recommended as an optimum for acoustical and cooling performance. The metal panels can also be perforated in order to improve the acoustic comfort in a room. If additional acoustical absorption is required, an extra layer of insulation material (acoustical pad) can be installed above the climate elements. The standard colour range for Luxalon® 30BD and 30BXD includes several different colours and finishes. Any other custom colour is available on request.

Climate ceiling system with wood grill panels

Derako® Solid Grill PareauLux, combining a natural aesthetic with exceptional functional performance.

This ceiling system consists of solid wooden slats, connected with a metal dowel and assembled in grill panels. With a metal clip, the dowel is connected to the carrier, ensuring a rigid fixation. For the climate ceiling various wood slat dimensions and spacings are possible. The system is also available with veneered wood slats. Depending on the desired acoustical performance, an additional layer (blanket) of acoustical material can be applied above the climate elements.
