Hunter Douglas Architectural contributed to the ceiling design for the University School of Design, Innovation and Technology (ESNE) in Madrid. This renovation focused on the building’s busiest areas, including the entrance, reception, main hall, and cafeteria, effectively addressing the noise issues caused by high foot traffic through the installation of a felt ceiling.

Exceptional acoustic performance
For this project, the Hendel + Torres de Arquitectura studio sought a solution that combined aesthetic appeal with acoustic comfort, which the HeartFelt® system fulfills perfectly. Hunter Douglas Architectural provided rounded 64mm white panels covering approximately 250-300m². These panels are BREEAM-certified for sustainability and offer significant acoustic absorption, enhancing comfort in the spaces where they are installed. HeartFelt® is made from non-woven, thermoformed PES fibers, featuring open joints between panels. This ceiling system delivers exceptional acoustic performance, with absorption values (αw) ranging from 0.45 (modulus 100) to 0.70 (modulus 50), making it an ideal choice for both aesthetics and functionality.
