Corda Campus

In Hasselt, Belgium, one of Europe’s largest tech campuses now stands where the former Philips factory once operated. This vibrant innovation hub hosts 250 companies and 5,000 people across nine buildings, creating a lively business community. For Phase 1, Hunter Douglas Architectural, in partnership with its Belgian distributor, produced a Derako^® solid wood ceiling system for two main halls.

Solid Wood Ceiling
In the first hall, 1,351 m² of American Ash Grill ProLine panels in a transparent finish create a warm, inviting look. The design combines 20 mm thick wood slats with a 50 mm height, spaced 80 mm apart, blending with the industrial elements for a robust, cohesive look. In the second hall, 1,240 m² of Pine Grill system panels with similar dimensions complete the aesthetic unity.

New Master Plan
Further sustainable development aims to transform the campus into a well-connected, adaptive hotspot. Enhanced public transport, bike and scooter access between buildings, and green spaces are central to the plan. The master plan integrates a sustainable grid with flexible modules and adaptive building volumes, offering spaces for work, research, startups, sports, recreation, and short stays for an inspiring atmosphere around the clock.
