Enhancing Zendal’s New ALS Facilities

The Isabel Zendal Hospital’s latest facilities in Madrid, designed for the research and treatment of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), feature a ceiling solution by Hunter Douglas. Led by architect Virai Arquitectos, the project includes a specialised day-care centre for ALS patients, further strenghtening the hospital’s commitment to addressing complex neurological diseases and public health challenges.

Comfortable and efficient space

The Isabel Zendal Hospital, a key institution during the COVID-19 pandemic, has become a national and international benchmark in healthcare. The new facilities reflect its dedication to a multidisciplinary approach to combating emerging and debilitating diseases. To enhance the hospital’s functionality and user experience, Hunter Douglas supplied its HeartFelt® Linear ceilings, in grey tones, with dimensions of 40 x 80mm and a modulation of 130. The project spans approximately 1200m2 and incorporates both acoustic and aesthetic features for a more comfortable and efficient space.

Sustainability and well-being

With a focus on creating sustainable and comfortable environments, Hunter Douglas brought its expertise in architectural solutions to optimise natural lighting and climate control in the hospital’s new facilities. The integration of our ceilings, along with solar protection and light control systems, promotes healthier and more efficient spaces, improving the experience for both patients and healthcare professionals.

This project reflects Hunter Douglas’s commitment not only to high-quality architectural design but also to sustainability and well-being. The solutions implemented at Zendal reduce energy consumption and enhance environmental conditions, essential in building modern, resilient hospitals.
