HeartFelt® PareauLux Climate Ceiling

Unique Sustainability and Design Freedom

In modern architecture and sustainable climate control, the PareauLux linear climate ceiling has distinguished itself as a groundbreaking solution that strikes a perfect balance between sustainability and design freedom. This innovative product results from a collaboration between two prominent players in the industry: Hunter Douglas Architectural, renowned for their distinctive designs and use of louvered materials, and Inteco, which has developed an advanced climate system with an extremely high cooling capacity.

It promises the ultimate comfort experience and has demonstrated its worth in numerous applications, including the new office building of a leading company that manufactures products for modern agricultural businesses.

Seamless Integration with Rural Architecture

The design of the new office building is a prime example of rural architecture and landscape integration, where the offices and the workshop were seamlessly embedded into the rural context. This approach, considers the features of the surrounding structures, such as houses, farms, barns and stables, typically characterized by their pitched roofs. Architect Franz Ziegler of Ziegler Brandenhorst explains, “We are specialized in rural architecture and we have discovered that pitched roofs contribute to the spatial qualities of the interior design. The surplus space under the roof offers a spacious ambiance orientation in the interior.

Addressing Climate Challenges in the Design

Effectively managing the indoor climate was one of the foremost challenges in designing these buildings. Ziegler emphasizes variety in volumes, stating, “The difference between the offices and the workshop is clearly visible in the design of the volumes. The offices are fully climate-controlled with climate ceilings, while the workshops have a shed-like appearance with extra height for overhead cranes. This contrast is reflected in the roof angles, where the offices adapt to the barn-like volumes of the surroundings.”

A Smart Choice

The PareauLux ceiling was carefully selected to meet the specific project requirements. Ziegler elaborates, “We initially considered wooden louvers but we decided that the felt look was a better alternative. The HeartFelt® PareauLux panels aligned perfectly with the felt proposal, especially when combined with the burnished floor, underfloor heating, rendered walls, and the plywood roof and laminated timber beams.”

Aesthetics and Acoustic Qualities

The aesthetic and acoustic properties of HeartFelt® PareauLux proved invaluable to the project. Ziegler adds, “The acoustic performance of the felt is also important. What’s more, the application beautifully accentuates the lines of this product, enhancing the expression of the wooden beams. We’ve now applied this ceiling in our office as islands, as acoustic improvement was needed. It aesthetically complements our signature style.”

The Icing on the Cake

For the company that manufactures products for modern agricultural businesses, the comfort and ambiance were paramount. Ziegler concludes, “The result is that they received more than they expected.” The PareauLux Climate Ceiling has proven itself as a product that is not only functional and sustainable but also exceeded the customer’s expectations.

This project is a splendid example of how the PareauLux Climate Ceiling combines sustainability, design freedom, and comfort to create an architectural masterpiece while also providing a functional and pleasant workspace for its users.
