Restaurant KonneKt

Nestled in the woodlands of Soesterberg, conference hotel Kontakt der Kontinenten combines history and modern design within its two historic buildings, the former mission house St. Jan and the Cenakel monastery. A 2020 renovation introduced a new restaurant with a panoramic garden view, accommodating over 240 guests with a multifunctional food court and the KonneKt lounge for larger gatherings. Designed by Boparai Associate Architects, the glass pavilion creates an open and minimalistic ambiance, seamlessly connecting spaces.

The cultural theme of the renovation is reflected in segmented sections, warm furnishings, and inviting aesthetics. The restaurant’s ceiling features the Derako solid wooden Grill ProLine system in red oak, enhancing the space with warmth, depth, and improved acoustics, thanks to integrated acoustic fibre. Installed by Dijkhuizen & Partners, this ceiling solution perfectly complements the restaurant’s modern yet culturally rich atmosphere.
