Swimming pool „Leonhard-Wagner-Welle“

The “Leonhard-Wagner-Welle” swimming facility in Schwabmünchen, Germany, located opposite the Leonhard-Wagner schools, serves both students and the wider community. Designed by Studio Gollwitzer Architekten GmbH (Munich), the building moves from a clear, structured grid into a softer, curved form that continues into the interior. The ceiling plays an important role in this design, helping to shape the space and creating a strong sense of connection throughout the building.

Around 1,300 m² of the HeartFelt® Linear ceiling system by Hunter Douglas Architectural was installed in a 7575 cream tone, with 55 mm lamellae at a 70 mm module. Its use in a swimming pool is particularly distinctive, as felt is not an obvious choice for such an environment. However, it delivers excellent acoustic absorption in a space dominated by hard surfaces, while adding a warm, soft appearance.

The system’s flexibility enabled the precise realisation of the curved ceiling, while its modular design supports efficient installation and long-term accessibility, combining high performance with a refined architectural expression.
