HeartFelt® ceilings and custom solutions for La Vaguada shopping centre

Hunter Douglas Architectural has brought its innovation in design and acoustic comfort to La Vaguada, one of Madrid’s most iconic shopping centres. In an environment where visitor experience is key, every architectural component plays a crucial role. However, if there is one element that stands out beyond its structural function, it is the ceiling, as it influences acoustics, lighting, and the sense of spaciousness. With this in mind, L35 Arquitectos has chosen to install 9,000 m² of HeartFelt® ceilings, an advanced solution that combines aesthetics, functionality, and sustainability.

Design that transforms the experience

Shopping centers have evolved into dynamic spaces where entertainment, dining, and leisure coexist with retail activity. It is no longer just about purchasing products but about enjoying attractive and comfortable environments that invite visitors to stay longer. In this context, interior design plays a crucial role, with every architectural decision impacting visitors’ comfort and well-being.

At La Vaguada, Hunter Douglas Architectural has implemented its HeartFelt® system, using dark brown (7578) felt panels measuring 40×105 mm, with a 140 mm spacing between axes. Beyond its visual appeal, this solution enhances the centre’s acoustics, reducing reverberation and creating a more comfortable atmosphere for visitors.

Tailored innovation

One of the most innovative aspects of this project is the special 90º corner solution, which allows the ceiling to make a seamless transition into vertical surfaces. This design not only enhances the sense of spaciousness and spatial coherence but also reinforces the shopping centre’s visual identity.
