Campus300

Campus300 is the new beating heart of Avans University of Applied Sciences in ’s‑Hertogenbosch. A vibrant urban campus where education, research, and student housing come together. The design by DP6 architectuurstudio is open and future‑oriented, calling for materials that both support and enhance this character.

For this project, Hunter Douglas Architectural supplied a combination of Derako® veneered wooden linear cassettes and Luxalon® expanded metal panels. Two materials with distinct identities that together create a balance between warmth and technology, calmness and dynamism.

The wooden cassettes introduce a natural appearance to the spaces and contribute to a pleasant acoustic environment. In a setting where learning, collaboration, and social interaction take place daily, wood provides comfort and focus.

The Luxalon® expanded metal adds a contemporary and open character. Its transparent structure creates rhythm and depth without making the ceiling feel heavy or enclosed. Thanks to its high acoustic absorption, the expanded metal contributes to sound comfort in larger, open areas.

With Campus300, Hunter Douglas Architectural demonstrates how thoughtful ceiling and façade solutions can contribute to buildings that not only function well, but also feel comfortable in everyday use.
